The city of Bocholt sees itself as a "colourful city" in which inclusion and equal opportunities are comprehensively realised. This includes, among other things, that Bocholt should develop into a place where diversity is valued, participation is actively made possible for everyone and no one is excluded.

The concrete integration work takes place at the municipal level and is largely supported by the commitment of many private and voluntary initiatives. In order to honour their commitment, to support the associated financial expenditure and to make it better known, but also to promote integration work and to grant recognition for the work done, the Integration Prize of the City of Bocholt is awarded every two years.

On the recommendation of the integration council, the city council meeting decided in its meeting on 26 October to award the integration prize of the city of Bocholt and in its meeting on 14 December the corresponding award guidelines.
