100 Castles Route

The 100 Castles Route is one of the most outstanding cycle routes in Germany! Over a distance of around 960 km, it crosses the picturesque Münsterland region and connects more than 100 castles, palaces, manor houses and manor farms in the region.

The fascinating castles in western Münsterland can be discovered on the western route (approx. 310 km). Diepenbrock Castle in Bocholt and the surrounding castles and palaces can be easily reached on individual day tours from Bocholt.

Diepenbrock Castle in Bocholt-Barlo, surrounded by a park with rare tree species, and Anholt moated castle with its impressive park are popular stops on the 100 Castles Route. Raesfeld Castle and Gemen Castle in Borken also attract numerous visitors.
