The Kiepenkerl is a historical figure from the Westphalian region. On this tour, adults or schoolchildren learn interesting facts about the history of the town and the significance of the Kiepenkerl in the region. City tour in 1900 with the quack doctor
With a twirled moustache and bowler hat, the Bocholt quack in the black frock coat welcomes his guests in Bocholt at the Europabrunnen fountain in front of the historic town hall. He is the Bocholt city guide and storyteller from around 1900.
Frank Telaar, alias the Bocholt Quack, takes participants on a 90-minute tour through Bocholt's history at the beginning of the 20th century. There are many interesting and interesting facts about the lives of Bocholt's citizens and the booming textile industry from this exciting era.
He talks about the doctor Dr Bönninghausen on Nordstraße and the "restaurant Ellering" on Ravardistraße, where people drank the odd beer that once cost 24 pfennigs. Money had to be hard earned and there were considerable differences in living standards between the social classes.
The quack gives an entertaining and amusing account of everyday life and explains some of the history of the city's buildings, squares and streets in Bocholt.

Bocholt Stadt - Land - Aasee
Discover Bocholt in a different way...without a bike and without a strenuous walk!
The public Segway tour around Bocholt takes you with an experienced guide through the city, into the countryside and to the Bocholter-Aasee lake.
After a briefing and a test drive on Berliner Platz, the tour starts through Bocholt. Past the Mariengymnasium, along the Bocholter Aa and past the Protestant Christuskirche church, the Segway tour takes you along low-traffic roads to the city forest. Participants then head towards the Hohenhorster Berge and past the Bocholter Aasee lake to the podium bridge at the LWL-Museum Textilwerk in the "kubaai" cultural quarter. The city tour then ends back at the starting point on Berliner Platz.
A short break is planned at the Aasee lake, where you can fortify yourself for the onward journey.

Guided cycle tours are a wonderful way to explore the region by bike and learn more about its history, culture and beautiful landscape.
The cycle tours take you to the western Münsterland and the Dutch Achterhoek. A local guide provides interesting information and stories about the border town of Bocholt.
The tours with your own bike start at the LWL-Museum Textilwerk or at TSV Bocholt. Here, participants gain an insight into the history of Bocholt and the development of the textile town.
From here, you cycle along paved cycle paths and quiet lanes, past meadows, fields, farms and churches that reflect the picturesque landscape of the Münsterland.
After crossing the "green border", the Achterhoek border region is explored on Dutch cycle paths, the" Fietspaden". After a break, the group sets off on the return journey.
