Akan Üstüngör

Hi, I'm Akan Üstüngör and I've been working for L-i-A e.V. (L-i-A) as a neighbourhood worker in Hochfeld-Süd since March 2021 and in the city centre since January 2023.

The tasks in these neighbourhoods are very different because so many different people live here: Old and young, families and single parents, Germans and families with international family histories. The tasks excite me because I see new faces and meet new people every day.

It is important to me that people identify with their neighbourhoods. To achieve this goal, we work together with local stakeholders and different people and organise events, courses and many different offers, such as senior citizens' afternoons, outdoor games, German courses, exercise and health courses.

In addition, I provide individual assistance in the neighbourhoods, e.g. filling out forms, accompanying people to various institutions/authorities, support in preparing CVs, organising interpreters and informing people about municipal services.

You can find me on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Hochfeld-Süd neighbourhood, Am Lönsstadion 1, (on the grounds of VfL 45).
