"Ida" and "Georg" are the names of Bocholt's two free cargo bikes. Bocholt residents can borrow them free of charge for up to three days at a time - even several times a year. Both bikes can also be used to transport children.
While the Georg cargo bike is powered by muscle power, Ida uses an electric drive to provide the "artificial tailwind". Up to four children can be taken along and shopping can be transported. The "Ida" bike is equipped with a rain cover and seat belts.
Funding programmes for cargo bikes
There are currently no subsidy programmes for the purchase of cargo bikes for private individuals! Freelancers or tradespeople can find information on subsidising cargo bikes on the topic page.

The Georg cargo bike can be hired from the Bocholt RADStation (Josef-Jakob-Platz 2, 46399 Bocholt).
