New in Bocholt
Welcome to Bocholt - the city for everyone who appreciates a family-friendly environment with high recreational value.
With around 71,000 inhabitants, Bocholt is the largest city in the western Münsterland region. The proximity to the Netherlands and the Lower Rhine is also reflected in the mentality of the residents: open, sociable and self-confident. This is also reflected in the strong communities and the large number of clubs in which the people of Bocholt are active. So even newcomers have a good chance of quickly making new contacts and friendships.
Bocholt residents benefit from the good transport connections in all directions, and not only in their leisure activities. The small and medium-sized businesses located in the city can also cultivate their international relations in the best possible way. They shape the economic structure in the city and district. Large companies from the electrical, mechanical engineering and textile industries have their headquarters here. The university of applied sciences is a centre of attraction for numerous students, who can enrol here in international management or the rare subject of bionics.
The town centre reflects Bocholt's 800-year history - for example, in the central market square with the historic town hall built at the beginning of the 17th century and St. George's Church. Bocholt is the right place for everyone who appreciates a metropolitan infrastructure, but at the same time does not want to do without the cosy flair of a compact medium-sized town with high recreational value and family-friendly surroundings.
