Free events from 5 to 23 May 2025 // Orientation offers for self-determined living
In May, everything in Bocholt revolves around the topic of "Living in old age". For three weeks, more than 50 events and lectures offer comprehensive orientation on forms of living and support services in Bocholt. The programme is aimed at people aged 60 and over, senior citizens, relatives and other interested parties.
In recent years, the housing options for older people in Bocholt have changed and expanded considerably. The city of Bocholt is actively committed to providing information about the various housing options and offering direct insights on site. During the "Wohnen im Alter" campaign weeks, this project will be realised.
The focus is on the question of how self-determined living can succeed in old age - whether within one's own four walls or with alternative living concepts. In addition to comprehensive presentations, workshops and tours, experts will also be inviting visitors to individual counselling sessions. Practical solutions, offers of help and services that make life planning easier will be presented. Financial matters will also be discussed.
A highlight of the campaign weeks is the day trip to the Institute of the German Society for Gerontotechnology, where innovative everyday aids for a barrier-free home are presented in a practical way. As part of the campaign weeks, the film "Human forever" will also be shown at the Kinodrom for a reduced admission price of 5 euros.
The city of Bocholt invites all interested parties to take an active look at their own living situation. Under the motto "Planning early - because every age deserves the best home", the aim is to raise awareness for timely and needs-based housing planning.
