"Company of the Year 2022": And the winner is... BENNING Elektrotechnik und Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG

Every 2 years, the "Company of the Year" prize worth 5,000 euros is awarded to a Bocholt company. This prize is intended to give recognition to the company in question for exceptional entrepreneurial achievements and responsibility in the city of Bocholt. The successes of committed companies and entrepreneurial personalities are to be popularised in this way in order to provide impulses for further innovations and investments in Bocholt and the region. The aim is to promote the location and employment in Bocholt.

The prize was initiated and has been organised by the Stadtsparkasse Bocholt since 1996.

With the "Company of the Year 2012" award, the Wirtschaftsförderungs- und Stadtmarketing Gesellschaft Bocholt mbH & Co. KG was asked for the first time to take over the organisation of the selection of the company to be honoured and also the implementation and conception of the festive event. In this context, the award criteria were revised. The Entrepreneur Award continues to be sponsored by the Stadtsparkasse Bocholt.

The price

Start: first in 1996

Rhythm: biennial, awarded in the following year

Endowment: € 5,000

The award winner undertakes to use this amount

a.) for the further training of its employees or

b.) for investments -in the environmental protection of the company, -for the safety and protection of the employees or -in science and research (innovations)

c.) as a tax-recognised donation for social, scientific or other charitable purposes.

In addition: Prize in kind (sculpture by the Bocholt artist Jürgen Ebert)

Award: In the context of a public ceremony in which the achievements of the award winner are appropriately acknowledged by a specialist lecture.

Criteria for the award

Commitment to the location Bocholt as well as extraordinary activities for the business location Bocholt.
Successful establishment or continuation of a business with above-average facilities
new or increase in existing jobs and training places
Successful overall development of the company and special entrepreneurial achievements (e.g. successful acquisitions, crisis management, reorientation, investment development)
Special achievements / activities in the areas of environmental protection, energy saving and resource conservation
Successful innovation, modernisation and / or exceptional achievements in the field of science and research (technology transfer)
Extraordinary social or cultural commitment. This includes in particular the subject area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Service and customer proximity

At the jury meeting, each juror will explain his or her preference for one of the submitted proposals on the basis of the proposals submitted by the persons entitled to submit proposals, the corresponding justifications and the competition documents available. The proposals of the individual jurors are discussed until the jury reaches a consensus, in case of doubt by majority vote. The members of the jury represent the decisions made by their jury unanimously.

The decision of the jury remains secret until the award ceremony. Appeals against the decision of the jury are excluded.

Self-nomination is excluded. Each person entitled to make a proposal may submit one proposal. Reasons must be given for each nomination.
