Bocholt takes second place again
Cycling is in the blood of the people of Bocholt! Bocholt has achieved second place in the overall ranking for medium-sized towns (50,000 to 100,000 inhabitants) in the nationwide CITY CYCLING initiative. 3,013 active cyclists in 197 teams cycled for the city from Westmünsterland. The people of Bocholt were once again very hard-working and covered a total of 691,931 kilometres in 50,810 rides. In the overall ranking, Bocholt once again took second place behind the city of Rheine (703,000 kilometres) in the CITY CYCLING competition.
The previous year's figures were once again exceeded, both in terms of the number of participants and the kilometres travelled.
Special raffle of sponsor prizes
The campaign was also combined with a competition this year. The lucky winners of the special prize draw have now received their prizes.
Anyone who cycled more than 150 kilometres in total during the three weeks of the campaign from 1 to 21 May was entered into the special prize draw.

How many kilometres did the people of Bocholt cycle?
St Bernhard School wins the nationwide SCHULRADELN competition
The competition within the competition! This is the name of the NRW school cycling competition. Pupils, together with their parents and teachers, were able to collect kilometres for the city of Bocholt, but also for their own school or class/year group. With 175 kilometres per participant, the Catholic St. Bernhard School achieved the most kilometres among the primary schools in the state competition, taking first place. Together with their parents and teachers, the pupils cycled a total of 13,472 kilometres, making them the second most successful of all schools in Bocholt that are active cyclists.
First City Councillor Björn Volmering personally presented the award to great cheers from the pupils.
