The trip is all about deepening relations between the two cities and initiating an official city friendship. Bocholt and Wuxi are looking back on 40 years of friendship this year.

"Walk in Freedom": Cross-border hike with a historical background

This special route will take participants to historic places and tell stories of freedom and connection - exactly 80 years after the liberation of Dinxperlo (Netherlands).

German-Dutch art project "Freiheitsstrom - Vrijheidsstroom" takes shape

Artists exchange ideas in the "GrenzBlickAtelier"

A cross-border art project is currently being realised in Bocholt and the Dutch municipality of Doetinchem under the title "Stream of Freedom - Vrijheidsstroom". German and Dutch artists have now met for a "Get-together" in the GrenzBlickAtelier Bocholt-Suderwick. Eight German-Dutch "artist tandems" are involved in this project.

Sixth aid transport packed for Ukraine

On Wednesday, 22 January, the sixth humanitarian aid transport was packed for the Ukrainian city of Verkhniodniprovsk. The city of Bocholt signed a solidarity partnership with the Ukrainian municipality in October 2023. "This important step underlines the commitment of the citizens of Bocholt and the ever closer ties between the two cities", according to the city of Bocholt.
