Call for donations in kind for Ukraine

Saturday, 15 and 22 March, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., collection point Halle Industriestrasse // Collection possible // People in Verkhniodniprovsk need help

The next humanitarian aid transport is already being planned: the city of Bocholt and the "Helping Hands" initiative are calling for the collection of donations in kind for the war-torn Ukrainian city of Verkhniodniprovsk.

The city of Verkhniodniprovsk still needs relief supplies for its hospitals and internally displaced persons. Donations will be collected on Saturdays 15 and 22 March between 1 and 3 p.m. at Halle Industriestrasse 7 (next to the IBENA factory outlet).

The city of Verkhniodniprovsk continues to face enormous challenges. The city now has 6,500 internally displaced persons who have fled to the Ukrainian twin city due to the ongoing war. This number continues to rise. They and especially the hospitals, where injured soldiers are also being treated, urgently need support.

"Bocholt helps Verkhniodniprovsk"

"We are asking citizens and companies for donations for the next aid transport under the motto "Bocholt helps Verkhniodniprovsk", says Petra Taubach, European Affairs Officer for the city of Bocholt. The next aid transport from Bocholt will again be organised together with the "Helping Hands" group of the St. Josef parish and the Bocholt Volunteer Agency.

Donations for hospital and music school

In Verkhniodniprovsk, well-kept beds with bedding and bed linen are needed as well as nappies, disposable gloves, bandages and plasters. The friendly Ukrainian town is also looking for well-preserved chairs, benches and armchairs to furnish the waiting areas in the two hospitals.

Woodwind and brass instruments as well as guitars and piano benches are also needed for the local music school. The city of Verkhniodniprovsk is also looking forward to receiving sports equipment, a functioning table tennis table and sewing machines. Hygiene articles such as shampoo, shower gel, deodorant etc. are always needed.

Collection is also possible

The contact person for the donations is Leo Engenhorst, "Helping Hands" of the parish of St Joseph. He can be contacted on 0175 401 26 28 for questions or information. Donations can also be collected in the city areas of Bocholt, Rhede, Isselburg and Hamminkeln.
