Call for donations in kind for Ukraine

The city of Verkhniodniprovsk in Ukraine, with which the city of Bocholt has entered into a solidarity partnership, continues to face enormous challenges. In particular, the 6,500 internally displaced persons who have fled to the Ukrainian twin city due to the ongoing Russian war of aggression are in urgent need of support.

To help these people, the city of Bocholt is organising a collection of donations in kind with the "Helping Hands" group of the St. Josef parish.

The required relief supplies include in particular

• Mattresses
• bed linen
• pillows
• Duvets
• Warm blankets
• Towels
• Dressing and care material (note: best before date must be given)
• Equipment for doctors and nursing staff, such as surgical clothing, masks, gloves (please note: best before date must be given)
• Hospital beds with mattresses, bed linen, pillows and duvets
• Nappies - for children and incontinent patients
• Hygiene articles, e.g. shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste, soaps, etc. (please note: best before date must be given)
• Generators
• Medical aids, e.g. wheelchairs, orthoses, etc.
• Good bicycles
• Refrigerators, washing machines, cookers (only in working order)
• Heat-generating appliances, e.g. hot fans etc.

Two collection dates in January

The collection of donations in kind will take place on Saturday, 4 January, and the following Saturday, 11 January, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the warehouse at Industriestraße 7 (next to IBENA) in Bocholt.
