Stand-up café and film screening at the Dementia Competence Day
Competence day for caring relatives and professionals // Dementia network invites you
For Friday, 17 November, the Bocholt Dementia Network invites relatives, affected persons and professionals to an event in the premises of the Stadtsparkasse Bocholt, Neutorplatz 1. The event begins at 1.30 pm with a standing coffee.
"Guests can expect a sensitive documentary film that treats the topic of dementia with respect and hopefully creates a basis for discussion with the members of the Bocholt Dementia Network afterwards," says Marie-Therese Brand, employee in the senior citizens' office of the city of Bocholt.
About the film
Grandma has become a bit doddery. And since the death of her husband, the gaps in her memory are getting bigger and bigger, her disorientation is increasing. Director Astrid Menzel makes a decision: together with her brother and the 86-year-old, they go on a ten-day canoe trip across northern German waters. An adventure with an uncertain outcome, which the three travellers have to face from one stage to the next.
Admission is free. Registration is required and possible until 13 November at the senior citizens' office of the city of Bocholt on tel. 02871 953 2234 or by e-mail to seniorenbuero(at)bocholt(dot)de. The event will end at around 6 pm.
About the Bocholt Dementia Network
The aim of the network is to expand and bundle care services for people with dementia and their relatives. Much has been achieved by the network since 2008: lectures, theme weeks, information and seminar events as well as special campaigns (such as the "dementia backpack" in the municipal library) have since contributed to bringing the socially increasingly important topic of "dementia" out of the shadows, reducing fear and offering concrete support formats for those affected and their relatives.
