Investor plans "Atea": Bocholt's green entrance gateway
The Rheder construction company Weidemann & Schillings wants to build new residential buildings on Wagenfeldstraße. The "Atea" is to be built - a building with green balconies, wind and solar systems. The design comes from a renowned architectural office from the Netherlands.
Contractor and investor Florian Schillings from the Rhede construction company Weidemann & Schillings now presented the plans to the building committee. According to the plans, the "Atea" will be a residential building with about 85 residential units and an underground car park.
The investor is aiming for a "mix of housing types". Couples with and without children, young and older residents, but also students will live there, and subsidised housing is also planned.
The building will be extensively greened; the plants will be watered by a central irrigation system supplied by solar and wind energy. The water for the plants forms a small, public body of water in the freely accessible outdoor area of the building.
According to Florian Schillings, the name "Atea" comes from the Basque language and means "the door".
Architectural practice from the Netherlands
The project was designed by the Dutch architectural firm Barcode Architects, which has designed eye-catching residential buildings in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, among other places.
The investor has created its own information page for the project, which will be activated shortly. It can be reached via the address www.atea-bocholt.de.
