Winners of the cot search game have been announced
Six-year-old from Dingden wins top prize // 150 nativity scenes were on display in the German-Dutch border region during the Christmas season
Around 150 nativity scenes at 54 locations were on display in the neighbouring border towns of Suderwick (Germany) and Dinxperlo (Netherlands) between 16 December and 7 January. People came from near and far to view the nativity scenes. 330 people paid particular attention and took part in a competition organised around the cot tour. The first prize went to a six-year-old girl from Dingden. She was delighted to receive an opulently decorated nativity scene.
Rosi Tuente from the organisation team and Sonja Wießmeier from EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt have now drawn the winners at the St. Michaelstreff in Suderwick. A total of 70 prizes were offered, which were donated by local shops, restaurants and companies. The organising team hid wooden rabbits in five of the 150 nativity scenes, which had to be discovered in order to take part in the competition.
The popular nativity scene tour is part of the German-Dutch cooperation on the border and strengthens the exchange and relations between the people of both countries on a civic level. "This is where you encounter "Europe on a small scale"" again and again, comments Sonja Wießmeier from EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt.
