About the "My Europe / Mein Europa" theme series
"My Europe" is an interactive digital event series that invites its guests to discover Europe. The organisers talk to young people from different countries about Europe and their personal topics of interest. The topics are as diverse as the speakers and can range from current political and social developments to culture and science to one's own commitment to more tolerance or solidarity. In addition to the given topic, all participants can also vote live on other topics and ask questions themselves in the evening.
The speaker
On 25 October, Anastasia Pociumban will take the audience on a virtual journey to Moldova. Anastasia Pociumban has been a researcher and project manager of the Think Tank Network on the Eastern Partnership at the Centre for Order and Governance in Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) since April 2022. Her work focuses on EU enlargement and the EU's relations with its eastern neighbours, as well as the foreign policy of the Eastern Partnership countries. Her expertise includes topics such as democratisation and local governance as well as civil society in Eastern Europe and Russia.
She is also a co-founder and member of the communications team of Brussels Binder, a platform that advocates for the voice of women in politics.
The topic
Anastasia Pociumban will introduce the audience to this rather unknown country in Eastern Europe. The guests will learn interesting facts and the culture. The speaker will also discuss Moldova's relations with the EU and explain the country's current candidate status.
Henri Schlund, freelance journalist, will be the moderator.
The event partners
The event series is free of charge and is organised by a large network with the following partners: AEGEE Aachen, Institut Français Aachen, JEF NRW, Charlemagne Prize Foundation, Charlemagne Prize Academy and the EUROPE DIRECT Centres from Aachen, East Belgium, Gütersloh District, Dortmund, Duisburg, Essen and Bocholt.
