Online event: My Europe - "Moją Europę - Poland"

Wednesday, 19 March at 7 pm // EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt invites you // Participation free of charge

On 19 March at 7 pm, the event "Moją Europę - Poland" will take place online. It is part of an interactive digital series of events in which young people from different European countries talk about Europe and their personal areas of interest. EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt is supporting this series of events for the European City of Bocholt.

The event series "My Europe" offers the opportunity to discover Europe from different perspectives. Young people from different countries talk about personal topics that are close to their hearts - from political and social issues to culture, science and social commitment. Participants can vote live during the event and ask their own questions.

About the speaker

The evening's speaker is Jan Dobija, the son of Polish migrants who grew up in Essen. He will talk about identity in the field of tension between Polish history and European development. Poles are a large but often overlooked community in Germany. What role does identity play in Polish society and politics? And how does Poland's history influence the present? These questions are at the centre of the discussion.

The event is being organised by a broad network including the Karlspreis Foundation, the Institut Français Aachen and several EUROPE DIRECT centres, including the one in Bocholt. Katharina Roß, freelance journalist, will moderate the event.
