Night watchman tour through the European city
EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt and Europa-Union Bocholt e.V. invite you // free guided tour on 5 December
On 5 December, interested citizens are invited to take part in the night watchman tour through the European city of Bocholt with Bocholt night watchman Florian Sauret. The usual meeting point is Georgsplatz from 6 pm.
EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt accepts registrations at europe-direct(at)bocholt(dot)de. Places are limited.
"Hear ye people and let me tell you...". This is how it sounds through the streets when the night watchman makes his rounds through the old Bocholt of 1665. With halberd and lantern, the Bocholt night watchman takes participants on a journey back in time.
He guides you through the history of the city with humour and knowledge. Along the way, he tells of poisoned wells, nocturnal murders and a siege that wasn't really a siege at all. The tour focusses on the history of Bocholt in the Middle Ages and early modern times, including European peculiarities.
The tour starts on 5 December at 6 pm on Georgsplatz and ends at the Christmas market. If you wish, you can join members of the European Union and EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt to review the European events of 2023. Drinks at the Christmas market are not included in the night watchman tour. The tour itself is free of charge.
The event is organised in cooperation with the Europa-Union Bocholt e.V.
