EU camps for young people in Berlin
Motto: Fit for the European elections // Application deadline 10 December and 28 January // Camps in February, March and April 2024
European elections in June 2024. For the first time in Germany, young people aged 16 and over will be able to vote. The Federal Press Office and the EU Parliament are inviting young people to a series of EU camps in Berlin. The aim is to prepare first-time voters for the election. The camp is free of charge and travel costs are subsidised. EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt is now drawing attention to this. It is inviting young Bocholt residents aged between 16 and 18 to take part in the camps.
In cooperation with the Liaison Office of the European Parliament, the Federal Press Office is organising two-day interactive workshops on EU-related topics for young people aged between 16 and 18. The aim is to equip young first-time voters with knowledge about the European elections.
The planned EU camps for 2024 will take place on three dates:
- 16-18 February 2024 (application deadline: Sunday, 10 December 2023)
- 1-3 March 2024 (application deadline: Sunday, 10 December 2023)
- 5-7 April 2024 (application deadline: Sunday, 28 January 2024)
They are aimed at school pupils and trainees. Accommodation at the European Academy Berlin, meals and the programme are free of charge. Travel costs are subsidised. The EU Camp is non-partisan.
