Electoral systems in Germany and the Netherlands

On Tuesday, 16 April, interested citizens are invited to a German-Dutch discussion evening in Dinxperlo (NL). The topic will be the differences between the German and Dutch electoral systems and the upcoming European elections. The speaker will be the Dutch expert Doede Sijtsma. The VHS Bocholt accepts registrations at vhs-bocholt.de (course number BR1112) or on 02871 953-7697. Admission is free.
The event is part of the public German-Dutch training series entitled "Grenzgespräche". Knowledge of Dutch is not a prerequisite for attending the event.
The topic
Speaker Sijtsma will give a short presentation on the differences between the electoral systems in Germany and the Netherlands. Participants are invited to ask questions and make suggestions over a drink.
The speaker
Doede Sijtsma works for Grenspost in Düsseldorf as the German representative for the provinces of Gelderland and South Holland. Since 2016, Grenspost Düsseldorf, the interprovincial post for the provinces of Gelderland, Overijssel, Limburg and South Holland, has been based at the Consulate General in Düsseldorf. These provinces focus on representing interests in Germany, particularly in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony, and work closely with these federal states.

The "German-Dutch Border Talks" are organised by the VHS Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg, the Dutch municipality of Aalten and EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt. The event will be moderated by Karl Eller.
