Conference on the Future of Europe: What will become of citizens' voices?
Digital information event: Tuesday, May 17, 19-20:30 in "Zoom".
One year ago, the "Conference on the Future of Europe" took place. The EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt, together with the other EUROPE DIRECT centers in North Rhine-Westphalia, is following up on Tuesday, May 17: What will now become of the voices of citizens? And how did participants feel about the citizens' forums and their participation opportunities? The event will begin at 7 p.m., and those interested can join in live online via "Zoom".
It was the largest citizen participation project in the history of the EU to date. European citizens from all corners of the Union were called upon to contribute and evaluate their ideas on the multilingual, digital platform. A wide variety of topics were discussed in numerous events. On May 9, the results of the conference were presented. How will the EU institutions take up the citizens' suggestions?
Questions to Daniel Freund (MEP) and Steffen Schulz (European Commission)
Moderator Katja Sinko discusses with Greta Adamek from Bonn and Klaus Gurniak from Wegberg, who participated in the citizens' forums and contributed their ideas. For the EU institutions, Steffen Schulz from the European Commission and Daniel Freund from the European Parliament will be present this evening.
