Watch and rate
The five nominated films will be shown with subtitles in the 24 official languages of the European Union in cinemas across Europe. "Bocholt will be there in 2024," says Sonja Wießmeier from EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt. Cinema-goers can rate the films on the voting platform https://luxaward-rating.europarl.europa.eu/de/ until 10 March 2024. The winning film will be announced at a ceremony in the European Parliament in March 2024.
The LUX Audience Award, which has been organised by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy in cooperation with the European Commission and Europa Cinema since 2020, combines the ratings of the European audience with the ratings of MEPs, half of which are included in the final result.
The LUX Film Prize was launched by the European Parliament in 2007 to support the circulation of films of high artistic quality produced in the EU. The nominated films reflect the cultural diversity in Europe and deal with themes such as human dignity, equality, non-discrimination, integration, tolerance, justice and solidarity.
Rating with smartphone
"EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt will support those present after the film screenings if there are any questions about the voting process," says Sonja Wießmeier from EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt. Tip: Cinema-goers are asked to bring their mobile phones to the screening so that the rating can be carried out directly after the respective films.
All participants have the chance to win a ticket for the award ceremony in Brussels.
This is a joint event organised by EUROPE DIRECT Bocholt and VHS Bocholt.
