Automotive mechatronics technician

The three-and-a-half-year training takes place at the Entsorgungs- und Servicebetrieb (ESB) of the city of Bocholt, whereby the theoretical knowledge is supported by attendance at the Berufskolleg Bocholt-West.

The 1st and 2nd years of training include:

• measuring and testing various systems
• operating vehicles and systems,
• assembling, dismantling and repairing motor vehicles, components, assemblies and systems, and
• Inspecting motor vehicles in accordance with road traffic regulations.

The 3rd and 4th years of training comprise:

• the maintenance of power transmission systems,
• Retrofitting and commissioning of auxiliary systems,
• Testing and repairing electro-pneumatic and electro-hydraulic systems, and
• carrying out service and repair work for a statutory inspection.

After completing vocational training, motor vehicle mechatronics technicians find employment opportunities

• in motor vehicle service companies such as repair shops of the motor vehicle trade and repair shops of vehicle manufacturers,
• at breakdown services,
• in car dealerships and
• at spare parts dealers with affiliated workshops
