Green space on Weberstraße officially opened
New raised beds and playground equipment // Resident survey by Zukunftsstadt 2030+ project
The benches and playground equipment in front of the Kardinal-Diepenbrock-Stift have been in use since the construction fences were removed last week. The green space was now officially inaugurated by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff and Pastor Rafael van Straelen.
On the Day of Urban Development on Saturday, project participants and residents of Diepenbrockstift met there. "Already in 2014 and 2019, the area was one of the measures in the integrated urban development concept," Kerkhoff emphasized "and through the broad participation process in the Future City project - in which the residents of the Kardinal-Diepenbrock-Stift were also involved - this great result has now emerged."
Together with the Kardinal-Diepenbrock-Stift, the team of the project "Future City 2030+ - Moving Bocholt" had designed a supporting program with the training group "Rolli-fit", a slack line offer, with face painting for children and a cafeteria organized by the Stift.
Together with the seniors, five raised beds were planted with shrubs, berries, vegetables and herbs, which will later be tended in cooperation with the St. Theresia daycare center.
