Traffic: City presents ideas for car-free Königstraße
Public information event on Wednesday, 13 September, from 7 p.m. in the Historic Council Chamber
The city administration invites citizens to a public information session on Wednesday, 13 September, in the Council Chamber of the Historic City Hall (Markt 1). The topic is the planned traffic calming in the city centre, specifically on Königstraße. The meeting will start at 7 pm. Please register by 11 September by calling 02871 953-3133 or online on the municipal website at www.bocholt.de/buergerbeteiligung .
Background: One of the largest projects in Bocholt's city centre in the coming years is the urban redevelopment in the area of Marktplatz and Manes-Schlatt-Platz. One of the plans is to build a residential and commercial building on the site of the former municipal savings bank.
In the course of the new development, it is intended to close Königstraße to general vehicle traffic in order to increase the attractiveness of the market square as an event space and as a location for outdoor catering.
The city of Bocholt will present initial ideas and possible solutions for calming traffic on Königstraße at the public information event.
