"Bokelt helau!": Tens of thousands of carnival fans are once again expected in Bocholt for the traditional Rose Monday parade.Tip for the Rose Monday parade: Come on foot, by bike or by bus
Car parks closed from 7am on Monday, roads closed from 12pm - and open again from 6pm
On Rose Monday, 3 March, Bocholt is once again looking forward to welcoming tens of thousands of visitors to watch the carnival parade. The city of Bocholt recommends coming on foot, by bike or by bus, as there will be fewer parking spaces available in the city centre due to necessary road closures.
Stadtbus Bocholt is organising a special service with more buses on almost all routes. This means that carnival fans can get to the Rose Monday parade quickly, comfortably and safely almost every 15 minutes. Or you can saddle up the most popular pet in the cycling city of Bocholt, the "wire donkey".
The large city centre car parks on Berliner Platz, Gasthausplatz and Liebfrauenplatz will be closed from 7 a.m. on Monday morning. Other access roads in the city centre will be closed from 12 noon.
Main access roads will also be secured with lorry barriers. The city of Bocholt emphasises that this is a precautionary measure.
Once the carnival procession has finished, the road closures will be lifted at around 6 pm.
A city map with car parks outside the ring road is available on the city's website at www.bocholt.de/anreise. Information on the Rose Monday parade in Bocholt in compact form at www.bocholt.de/rosenmontag.
