Aasee Bridge: Dismantling postponed

The announced dismantling of the bridge to Pagodeninsel has to be postponed by a few weeks. The reason: a bird is nesting under the bridge structure. The new clutch of eggs has now been discovered during a new inspection.
In such a case, the Federal Nature Conservation Act applies: Dismantling may only begin once the breeding is complete. The city of Bocholt is currently expecting a delay of several weeks.
The bridge is dilapidated due to damage and can no longer be repaired. It has been closed to the public for some time and will soon be dismantled by a specialist company.
The circular route will be closed in the area of the construction site. Pedestrian and cycle traffic can pass the construction site via the outer circular route.
