Stadium expansion "Hünting": City has issued grant notification

Venue of 1 FC Bocholt to become suitable for the third division

The "Am Hünting" stadium, home to regional league football club 1. FC Bocholt, is to be expanded so that it meets the standards of the Third Football League in the event of promotion. In spring, the city council decided to provide the club with €2.65 million for the construction of new floodlights and a pitch heating system. A supplementary budget was drawn up by the administration and approved by the council.

The grant notification for the funding amount has now been issued. First City Councillor and Head of the Sports Department Björn Volmering reported this to the Council on 18 September.

The club also wants to build a tubular steel stand to increase spectator capacity to 5,000.
