Training on guardianship law
Monday, 13 May, from 18:30-21 h at SkF Bocholt // Focus topic "health care" // Participation free of charge
The city of Bocholt is organising a free training course in cooperation with the local care associations. The event will take place on Monday, 13 May and is aimed at voluntary carers, authorised representatives and citizens interested in the topic. It starts at 6.30 p.m. at the Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen (SkF) on Langenbergstraße 18. Registrations can be made by calling 02871/25 18 220.
Alina Reiberg, an employee of the SkF's guardianship organisation and a legal guardian herself, will give a talk on this evening about special features in the context of health care.
Fortunately, measures that restrict freedom, such as restraining people in the context of placement under guardianship law, have fallen sharply thanks to new approaches (keyword "Werdenfelser Weg"). In rare cases, the situation changes and questions arise for voluntary legal carers: What needs to be considered when an elderly care facility requests the use of a bed rail? Or if placement in a locked facility is recommended?
The training explains the legal basis and presents alternatives for avoiding and reducing restraint.
The training series is a cooperation of the working group for the care system (care authority of the city of Bocholt, care associations of the SkF Bocholt and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Bocholt) and is organised by the care association of the Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen Bocholt e.V.. Participation is free of charge,
