Public Advent singing in Bocholt

Singing Christmas carols together on Saturday, 14 December, from 5 p.m. on St. Georg-Platz

On Saturday, 14 December 2024, St. Georg-Platz will become another festive meeting place right next to the Christmas market. The Bocholt Community Foundation presents the event "Bocholt sings in Advent!", where the people of Bocholt can immerse themselves in the pre-Christmas atmosphere of Advent together.

In cooperation with the Bocholt-Isselburg Music School and with the support of Stadtsparkasse Bocholt and the Bocholter-BorkenerVolksblatt newspaper, the event promises a musical journey through Advent with a varied programme for the whole family.

The first edition of this joint Christmas carol singing event in 2023 on Neutorplatz was attended by around 1,000 visitors. Due to this year's ice rink on Neutorplatz, the carol singing will be moved to St. Georg-Platz.

"Bocholt sings in Advent! " The programme starts at 2.30 pm with a varied music school. Various groups and ensembles play and sing Christmas melodies.

From 5.00 pm, Myriam Stober and Christoph Berghorn invite the audience to sing Christmas carols together. The programme includes international and German classics from the Christmas story. Those who are not sure of the words will be supported by the lyrics displayed on a screen.

"Bocholt sings in Advent! " promises a festive event for the whole family, where visitors can share the anticipation of Christmas together.
