Administration informs about new residential complex for refugees
Public citizens' meeting on Monday, 30 May, 6-7.30 pm on the former SC 26 Bocholt pitch on Werther Straße
On the former sports grounds of SC 26 Bocholt at Werther Straße 103, on the Tennenplatz, the Bocholt city council is currently building a residential complex consisting of mobile room units for refugees in need. Over the coming weeks, people fleeing war and persecution will be housed here.
The administration cordially invites the interested Bocholt public to a citizens' meeting on Monday, 30 May, to report on this project. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on the grass pitch in front of the grandstand (access via the entrance at Lowicker Straße 24-30).
Bocholt city council attaches great importance to informing local residents and citizens in advance, openly and in detail in order to promote acceptance and understanding and to allay any concerns. The expansion of existing municipal accommodation capacities is taking place against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. At present, all people in need can be accommodated, but the dynamic nature of the situation means that further capacity needs to be built up in advance.
After the welcome and introductory words by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff, experts from the administration will report in detail on the project and answer questions. Following the information section, the administration, social services and police will be available at themed tables to answer questions on care, support, security and volunteer support options. The still unoccupied residential units can also be viewed.
