Action day: "Giving care a face"

On Tuesday, 14 May, to mark International Care Day, Bocholt's pedestrian zone will once again be the venue for the special campaign "Giving care a face". From 10:00 to 15:00, citizens will have the opportunity to experience the diversity and importance of care work up close.

Various institutions from the outpatient and inpatient care sector will present themselves in order to give the interested public an insight into their daily work and to highlight the challenges and opportunities in this area.

Last year, the event was very popular and attracted numerous visitors. A varied programme will be on offer again this year: Interested parties can talk to care professionals, find out about care services and learn about the valuable contribution that carers make in everyday life using illustrative examples.

Antje Schlütter, care coordinator at the city of Bocholt and organiser of the event, emphasises the importance of the event: "Our aim is to invite people to get to know the faces behind care and to develop a deeper understanding of the significance of this important work. Professional care is an essential part of our society that will become increasingly important against the backdrop of demographic change. In addition to providing factual information, it is important to the organisers that this importance is appropriately acknowledged."

The "Giving care a face" campaign not only provides a platform for direct dialogue between care professionals, people in need of care, relatives and interested parties, but also offers people who are thinking about entering the care sector a good opportunity to gain a non-binding insight into the working world of care professionals.
