Parents' vote: St. Bernhard primary school remains a denominational school
The future of St Bernhard Primary School in the Lowick district has been decided: Following a parent vote, the school will remain a denominational school. The result of the vote fell short of the quorum required for a school change.
This week, parents had the opportunity to vote on the possible conversion of the denominational school into a community primary school. Out of a total of 415 eligible voters, 168 cast their vote.
Although the majority of votes cast, namely 129, were in favour of a school change, while 39 voted against, the result did not reach the required quorum. More than 50% of the votes cast, or 208 votes, would have been required to convert the school into a community school. This quorum was not reached.
The result of the parents' vote is therefore clear: St. Bernhard School in Lowick will remain a denominational school.
