New sports hall opened at Bocholt-West vocational college
Ceremony with Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff and District Administrator Dr Kai Zwicker
The new triple sports hall at Bocholt-West vocational college on Werther Straße was opened with a small ceremony on Tuesday afternoon. In future, the building will not only be used for school sports in Bocholt, but also for clubs.
Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff, District Administrator Dr Kai Zwicker and Headmaster Horst te Wilde inaugurated the building together with pupils from the vocational college. With the new triple sports hall, a place has been created that is "a good example of the excellent cooperation between the district of Borken and the city of Bocholt", said Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff in his welcoming address.
The new sports hall has already been in use by pupils since the start of the new school year. The Borken district worked closely with the city of Bocholt as the organiser and client during the planning phase.
In future, the new building will not only be used for daily school operations, but will also be available to Bocholt's club sportsmen and women. This will also provide a new home for the 1st men's team of TuB Bocholt, who will use the hall for their home games in the 2nd Volleyball Bundesliga.
