New: Search and report lost property online

City of Bocholt strengthens digital citizen service through www.fundbürodeutschland.de

The city of Bocholt is now making it easier for its citizens to search for lost items and report lost property. By connecting to the www.fundbürodeutschland.de platform, which is used throughout Germany, the administration is expanding its digital service offering and at the same time improving efficiency in the management of lost property.

Citizens can search for lost property quickly and easily on the www.fundbürodeutschland.de website. Thanks to the supra-regional network, lost property can be viewed not only from Bocholt, but also from other participating municipalities throughout Germany. This means: "If the lost item has been handed in in another city, the chances of finding it again increase considerably", explains Jens Wendland from the city's Department of Public Order.

The most important functions of the platform at a glance:

  • Online search for lost property: Citizens can search specifically for lost items by entering search criteria such as category, location or date found.

  • Reporting lost property: Anyone who has lost an item can register it online. If an item is found, a notification will be sent automatically.

  • Report lost property: Found items can also be entered directly online, allowing them to be assigned to the rightful owner more quickly.

  • Transparent processing: The platform makes it possible to view the current status of a lost property case online at any time.

"By using www.fundbürodeutschland.de, we are taking another important step towards digitalisation and citizen service. This is in line with our goal of making administrative procedures and processes simpler and more efficient for everyone involved", says Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff.

Citizens can now use the new platform free of charge. In addition, the team at the City of Bocholt's lost property office will continue to be available for personal enquiries during normal opening hours.

Further information and direct access to the platform can be found on the City of Bocholt's homepage at www.bocholt.de/fundbuero.
