Census 2022 also launched in Bocholt

The population census has been underway throughout Germany since Sunday 15 May. Bocholt is also being counted: 1,280 randomly selected Bocholt households will be interviewed by local survey officers over the next few weeks.

These households receive a letter with an appointment notice. The enquiry of some basic data in the form of an interview takes around 10-15 minutes; in addition, census households receive a code for an online questionnaire.

In addition to the random data collection from the population, a building and housing census is also carried out: For this purpose, all Bocholt property owners or their authorised representatives will be contacted by the State Statistical Office "Information and Technology NRW".

Participation in the census is mandatory, which means that affected households and owners must provide information.

In Bocholt, 55 local survey officers are on duty for the 2022 census. They identify themselves to citizens in accordance with their mandate.

All information collected is subject to the strictest data protection and data security regulations. Personal information such as names will be deleted at the earliest possible date. The data is not stored permanently. It cannot be used for purposes other than statistics.
