Bocholt municipal vaccination centre goes into rest mode: Friday is the last day corona vaccination is possible for the time being
11 March, 4-6 pm, for people aged 12 and over // Book an appointment via the chanys app // Biontech, Moderna and Novavax vaccines
The Bocholt Municipal Vaccination Centre (KIB) will be offering coronavirus vaccinations for the last time on Friday, 11 March 2022, from 4-6 p.m. in the old Sparkasse building (Am Markt). Appointments can be booked via the chayns app. People aged 12 and over can be vaccinated. They must bring a declaration of consent, a vaccination certificate and an identity document. Vaccinations for under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and signed by all parents or guardians.
Depending on the age group, the vaccines BioN Tech, Moderna and Novavax (protein vaccine*) are available.
First, second and booster vaccinations* (first and second booster) are possible.
The same vaccine is recommended for the second booster (possible from the age of 70 or in the case of proven immunodeficiency) as for the first booster. Please note that the second booster vaccination (second booster) is only given to people over 70 years of age and people with immunodeficiency in accordance with STIKO recommendations.
The team at the local vaccination centre asks you to come at the booked times to avoid waiting times. An FFP2 mask must be worn in the KIB.
The KIB will then close until further notice. If the next wave of corona infections comes and vaccinations become necessary, the KIB can reopen at short notice.
Mobile vaccination team continues to visit monthly
The mobile vaccination unit of the Borken district (KoCI Kreis Borken) will continue to offer its services. Vaccinations are expected to be carried out on site at the old Sparkasse bank on 2 days in the first week of every month. Dates can be found on the Borken district's internal website at https://impfen.kreis-borken.de/de/newspublic/coronavirus/corona-schutzimpfung/.
Balance sheet of the municipal vaccination centre in Bocholt: 9,400 people vaccinated
The KIB was in operation from 1 December 2021 to 11 March 2022. A total of 9,400 people were vaccinated there. This included 484 first-time vaccinations (approx. 5%).
"In December 2021, thanks to the active support and extremely cooperative collaboration of all partners, we were able to put the vaccination centre into operation within a week. In the first few days and weeks, a peak of 800 vaccinations were carried out per day. High vaccination rates of 85% have now been achieved in the Borken district, meaning that there is no longer a need for vaccination capacity. That is why we are now going into a standby or resting position. Basically, we hope that the municipal vaccination centre will no longer be "necessary" in the future. The team has worked very well together and we would like to thank everyone involved for their high level of commitment. We know that we can count on the same level of commitment should vaccination activities need to be ramped up again", summarises KIB representative Sascha Terörde from the city of Bocholt.
* Booster vaccinations( 1st or 2nd booster vaccinations) can be given at the earliest three months after basic immunisation or after the first booster vaccination for people over 70 years of age and people with immunodeficiency. A second booster vaccination should be given with the same vaccine as the first.
Notes on Novavax:
According to the StIKo, Novavax is recommended for people aged 18 and over. For basic immunisation, two doses must be given at least three weeks apart. The vaccine can also be used to complete immunisation for people who have just been vaccinated by Johnson & Johnson.
The vaccination documents (including the declaration of consent) can be downloaded and completed in advance at https://kreis-borken.de/impfunterlagen.
