Next Tuesday, 30 May, the city of Bocholt will start dismantling the dilapidated wooden bridge in the Bocholt city forest, at the "Rodelberg". A more stable bridge made of steel will replace it.
The 19-metre-long and 3.40-wide bridge, which was built in 1999, is suffering from the ravages of time. It is no longer roadworthy and has therefore been closed for some time.
The new bridge is made of steel, has a fibreglass-reinforced plastic surface and is equipped with wooden handrails. It will be erected towards the end of the year. The cost of the new bridge is estimated at 300,000 euros.
