Bridge to Aasee Island to be removed

The closed bridge to the island in Bocholt's Aasee lake was demolished on Friday morning by a specialist company on behalf of the city of Bocholt. Last weekend, part of the bridge had leaned to one side, which is why the demolition date was brought forward at short notice due to the acute danger situation.

After the stability of the closed bridge structure was no longer guaranteed, the city of Bocholt agreed a short-term date for the demolition with the contracted company.

The demolition work began on Friday morning. Part of the cycle path along the Aasee had to be closed for a short time for the demolition work.
