Music school: Bocholt guitar duo wins 2nd prize at "Jugend musiziert
Competition premiere for Mats Böing and Paul Tschorn
On Sunday, February 6, 2022, two more music students of the Music School Bocholt-Isselburg, Mats Böing and Paul Tschorn, took part in the 59th Regional Competition "Jugend musiziert" in the category "Plucked String Ensemble" at the Music School in Rheine - and achieved a second prize.
One week after the outstanding results of the string and accordion players, the two music students Mats Böing and Paul Tschorn finally went to the competition "Jugend musiziert" on Sunday. Due to the corona-conditioned smaller number of participants in the region, the category "plucked ensemble" was held this year in the music school in Rheine. In the age group 1B, the guitar duo convinced the three-member jury and achieved a great second prize with 20 points.
"I still practiced really hard", Mats Böing greeted his guitar teacher David Dyakov, who had prepared the guitar duo for many weeks for this competition. The excitement was definitely evident in the two young talents. Due to Corona, the public was excluded from the competition, only one parent per student and the teacher were allowed to be present at the audition. "They both did a really great job," Dyakov enthused about his students' performance. "You guys have done such a great job of developing your skills over the past few weeks, and that alone makes you winners."
Visibly relieved, very proud and satisfied, the two students started their journey home with their parents, eagerly awaiting the announcement of the results. The announcement was not made live, as in previous years, but via publication on the Internet.
A second guitar duo from Bocholt unfortunately had to cancel due to illness and could not participate in the competition, informed music school director Claudia Borgers.
