"The "Jugend musiziert" competition is always an exciting event for the pupils, teachers and parents", reports Bocholt's music school director Claudia Borgers. "She noticed a great atmosphere on site, and the fantastic results are something to be proud of. This is a great success, everyone can be very proud of their achievements"
Regardless of the competition result, the intensive preparation promotes the musical development of each individual participant. "The joy with which the musicians presented their pieces shows that the competition is about much more than points and prizes", emphasised music school director Borgers.
In addition to the dedicated pupils, the teachers of all participants also contributed to this result with their numerous additional rehearsals and personal commitment. This year, the pupils were prepared by teachers Christiane Schröder, Christina Schubach and Gabriele Nußberger. They were accompanied on the piano by teachers Christina Taczyk, Benedikt Newzella and Tetiana Shyrina. But according to Borgers, the support and assistance of the parents is also "enormously important".
About the "Jugend musiziert" competition
In the "Jugend musiziert" competition, specialist juries made up of music teachers, lecturers and specialist teachers from the respective instrumental areas classify the performances according to a points system of 0-25 points, to which corresponding prizes or awards are then assigned.
The funding for this competition, under the patronage of the Federal President and sponsored by the German Music Council, is provided by the Borken and Coesfeld districts, the towns and municipalities and the savings banks in the region.
Selected participants from the Borken and Wesel districts on the right bank of the Rhine will present their works on 9 March 2025 at 11 a.m. in the LernWerk in Bocholt.
