Children's musical group from the music school presents "Anouk and her journey to the sea"

From 23 to 25 May 2025, the children's musical group from the Bocholt-Isselburg music school will take to the stage together with the choir from the Maria Montessori School. The musical "Anouk and her journey to the sea" will be performed in the Euregiohalle. Tickets are available for 9 euros.

The 40-strong ensemble of the children's musical group will be performing "Anouk and her journey to the sea" by Uwe Heynitz and will be supported by the choir group and the JeKits choir from Maria Montessori School.

The children's musical group has been rehearsing weekly for almost a year under the direction of music school teachers Luanda Schillings and Carolin Lehmann. The children, aged between 5 and 16, express themselves through acting and singing, and dancing with trainer Floralie Reiff is also part of the programme.

In the musical, the main character Anouk experiences a colourful journey through the modern world. Anouk lives in a strictly monitored orphanage where life is heavily influenced by social media. Anouk realises that the digital dependency of the other orphans has negative consequences. They only seem to be interested in their selfies and likes - the real world and the Queen's beautiful kingdom are in danger of being forgotten.

To prevent this, Anouk sets off on a journey to the sea with colourfully costumed characters and mythical creatures. She wants to show the orphans how big and beautiful the world outside the mobile phone screen can be. On this fantasy journey, the characters have to show courage and learn the true meaning of friendship and trust.

A captivating story, amusing characters and upbeat songs invite children aged 5 and over and the whole family to experience this musical spectacle in the Euregiohalle.
