Further volunteer cards awarded to committed individuals

Presentation at Café BeLa // Greeting by Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff

The Bocholt Volunteer Card has now been awarded to 44 more committed Bocholters at Café BeLa. The awards were presented by Bocholt's mayor Thomas Kerkhoff together with Christian Tewiele from the Volunteer Promotion division and Volunteer Coordinator Rainer Howestädt.

The event was opened by Elke Held, Head of the Social Service of Catholic Women (SkF) Bocholt, and Annika Unland from Café BeLa. Both welcomed the guests and congratulated them on the award.

"The benefits of the volunteer card are really only a small thank you in relation to your great commitment", said Mayor Thomas Kerkhoff in his welcoming speech. He encouraged the volunteers to actually use the card.

750th volunteer card awarded

A special moment of the event was the awarding of the 750th volunteer card to Claudia Wienen. In addition, six "anniversary volunteer cards" were awarded for outstanding commitment. To date, a total of 784 volunteer cards have been awarded to citizens of the city of Bocholt.

About the volunteer card

The volunteer card is a small token of appreciation for those who are particularly committed to the city's society. It offers holders various benefits throughout North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony - including reduced admission to cultural institutions such as museums and theatres, discounts on sports and leisure activities and discounts in numerous shops and restaurants. The card is valid nationwide and enables volunteers to experience the recognition and appreciation of their work beyond the city limits.

In order to receive the volunteer card, certain requirements must be met. Applicants must volunteer at least five hours per week or 250 hours per year for at least one year. The card is valid for three years and can then be reapplied for.
