First Bocholt club fair

The open Sunday "Bokeltsen Treff" will have one more attraction: On 29 September, the first Bocholt club fair will take place at the same time as the popular special opening day in and around Shopping-Arkaden Bocholt. Visitors from Bocholt and the surrounding area are invited to get to know the diversity of Bocholt's club landscape at the fair from 1 pm and to talk to the clubs. There will also be many small and large events.

Co-operation

The city of Bocholt's volunteer agency has organised the fair in cooperation with the Bocholt shopping arcades. Centre manager Heiko Wagner: "We are delighted to be able to present the first Bocholt club fair in the Bocholt shopping arcades together with the city of Bocholt. With this event, we would like to give the clubs the opportunity to encourage voluntary and social commitment, to inspire interested parties and to present their wide range of activities." The fair is supported by Stadtsparkasse Bocholt, Volksbank Bocholt e.G. and Bocholt City Marketing.

Clubs and activities

When the deputy mayor Gudrun Koppers opens the club fair together with centre manager Wagner at 1 p.m., there will be around 70 club stands in and around the shopping centre with information about the clubs' offers. Many clubs will be offering small and large-scale activities at the fair. Wheels of fortune, golf putting training, reaction tests, a photo box and many other surprises await visitors.

In front of the arcades on Berliner Platz, for example, blood sugar levels can be measured at the info mobile of the German Diabetes Aid Bocholt. If you want, the self-help group for the hearing impaired can give you an impression of how the hearing impaired perceive their environment with the help of a headphone simulation. Cheerleaders, dance guards and a choir will provide entertainment on the square by the historic chimney. The club fair ends at 6 pm.

10 years " Volunteer Agency of the City of Bocholt"

This year, Bocholt's municipal volunteer agency is celebrating its 10th anniversary. "We thought about how we could celebrate this wonderful occasion and immediately realised that we definitely wanted to do something together with our associations", explains the head of the volunteer agency Rainer Howestädt. "This is how the idea for the first association fair came about and we are very happy that Bocholt's city marketing department is supporting the campaign and that we have found an active cooperation partner in the Shopping Arcades."

In the run-up to the trade fair, portraits were taken of many active volunteers from Bocholt, including their statements on their commitment. This photo series will be presented to the public for the first time at the trade fair. Howestädt: "Together with the associations, we are looking forward to presenting the colourful diversity of volunteering and the local association landscape to as many visitors as possible."
