FW Bocholt: Parallel operations due to lightning strike

In the night from Monday to Tuesday, the Bocholt fire brigade was alerted almost simultaneously at around 2:30 a.m. to two reported lightning strikes in the north of Bocholt.
On Barloer Ringstraße, a lightning strike caused a fire in a roof truss. The fire brigade covered the affected part of the roof with several squads using the turntable ladder and removed and extinguished the burning insulation. The Bocholt fire brigade was supported by the Rhede fire brigade with a fire engine. A total of 30 firefighters with 5 vehicles were on the scene for about two hours.
At the second scene, which was in an apartment building on Barloer Weg, parts of the building's electrical system were destroyed by the lightning strike. Fortunately, a fire could not be confirmed here.
