FW Bocholt: Numerous operations for the Bocholt fire brigade
Bocholt (ots) -
On Thursday, the Bocholt fire brigade was deployed in several areas of the city and beyond. The firefighters had to deal with a large number of emergency situations. This included assistance as well as fire alarms and a hazardous goods operation (Borken district NBC train).
A total of five emergency services, including oil spills, an emergency door opening and assistance with a resuscitation in a supermarket, kept the firefighters busy throughout the day. They were also alerted to a triggered fire alarm system on Robert-Bosch-Straße. However, this was a false alarm.
Another particularly demanding operation was the hazardous goods operation in the municipality of Südlohn. Specially trained emergency services from the Bocholt volunteer fire brigade provided support here as part of the Borken district's NBC platoon. A hazardous substance leak required a comprehensive risk assessment and coordinated supra-local cooperation with the other fire brigades in terms of hazard prevention.
In addition to the above-mentioned operations, the rescue service was also heavily involved. Over the course of the entire day, 53 rescue service operations had to be dealt with. These were both emergency rescue operations and patient transports
