FW Bocholt: International honours and promotions in the Suderwick fire brigade

Last Saturday afternoon, 09.11.2024, the operational department and the honorary department of the Suderwick fire brigade as well as the youth fire brigade of the Bocholt volunteer fire brigade - Suderwick group - accompanied the St. Martin's procession and helped to secure the route.

After the St Martin's procession in Suderwick, the Suderwick fire brigade held its St Martin's evening in the fire station in Suderwick.

Dirk Arping and Marco Heisterkamp from the Bocholt fire brigade were able to present the following honours and promotions:

For 25 years of active service in the fire brigade, Chief Fire Officer Simon Derrez received the Fire Brigade Badge of Honour of the State of NRW in silver.

The certificate of honour from the Association of Fire Departments in NRW for 40 years of membership in the fire service was awarded to
the former head of the Bocholt fire brigade, fire chief Thomas Deckers, and sub-fire chief Jörg Straatman.

The certificate of honour from the Association of Fire Departments in NRW for 10 years of membership in the fire service was awarded to
Main firefighter Maite Fisser.

Martin Kamperschroer was promoted to chief firefighter, Maite Fisser to chief firefighter and Joel Boehnicke to senior firefighter.

On this evening, there was a very special promotion:
Dutchman Damon Tebeest was promoted to firefighter. As there was no youth fire brigade in the municipality of Dinxperlo, Damon joined the Bocholt Group Suderwick youth fire brigade in 2019. Damon then began his basic training as a firefighter in January 2024. Damon has now been part of the Suderwick fire brigade's operational unit since June 2024.
A CV like this is unique in NRW. We are delighted to welcome Damon Tebeest, the first Dutch adult to join the Bocholt fire brigade.

Transfers to the honour department:

After 48 years as an active member of the Bocholt fire brigade, Ludger Boland has transferred to the honours department.
Ludger was very active in the fire brigade until the end and was a highly valued colleague and very good machine operator.
We would like to thank Ludger most sincerely for his tireless commitment to operational and training duties.

Marc Bruckmann has also joined the Bocholt fire brigade's honorary department due to career changes.
Marc has left Bocholt for professional reasons, but is still actively involved in the Bremerhaven fire service.

International events continued when the fire service performance badges were awarded. For two years now, the
District performance test of the fire brigades in the Borken district with a joint group from Dinxperlo and Suderwick.
The "Dinxperwick" group performed outstandingly at the performance test in Epe in September 2024.

The following performance levels were achieved:
Brandweer Dinxperlo:
1st participation "Bronze"
Daphne Kleinhesseling, Torsten Klug, Charlotte ten Heppe.
