FW Bocholt: Bocholt fire brigade rescues two people from defective cherry picker
Bocholt (ots) -
Shortly after the car accident in Bocholt-Liedern, the emergency services were called to an unusual operation in Kreuzstraße. At around 12:15 p.m., the Bocholt fire brigade received an emergency call from two employees of a cleaning company who were trapped in a defective cherry picker at a height of around 12 metres. Due to a technical defect, the cherry picker could no longer be operated, leaving the two people trapped in the work basket.
Thanks to the rapid deployment of three height rescuers from the fire service, who were equipped with specialised equipment, the two uninjured workers were quickly rescued. The height rescuers first secured the two people using the turntable ladder and brought them safely to the ground.
Parts of Ebertstraße had to be temporarily closed for the duration of the rescue operation in order to ensure that the operation ran smoothly. After the successful rescue, the closure was quickly lifted again.
The two rescued workers escaped with a fright and remained uninjured.
