FW Bocholt: Bocholt fire brigade frees driver after traffic accident on Werther Straße
Bocholt (ots) -
The Bocholt fire brigade was alerted to a traffic accident on Werther Straße at the Epping-Kamp junction in the Liedern district at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
On site, it turned out that a car had left the carriageway for unknown reasons and had come to rest on its roof. The driver was trapped in the vehicle due to the accident mechanism and was unable to free himself.
The Bocholt fire brigade mobilised several vehicles and began to free the driver in close cooperation with the rescue service. With the help of hydraulic rescue equipment, the emergency services were able to free the trapped patient from the vehicle quickly and gently.
Based on the initial information in the emergency call, a rescue helicopter was also alerted. Fortunately, it turned out that the driver was only slightly injured, so that the helicopter was able to turn around without having to do anything.
The patient was treated by the rescue service and an emergency doctor on site and then transported to a hospital in Bocholt for further treatment.
The fire and rescue services of the city of Bocholt were deployed with a total of five vehicles and 17 emergency personnel for around an hour. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the police.
