German-Dutch travel group on study trip in Berlin
Meeting with Anne König, Member of the Bundestag
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation organized a German-Dutch study trip to Berlin from December 12 to 15. People from Bocholt as well as guests from the neighboring Netherlands took part in the trip. The program included a meeting with Anne König, member of the Bundestag, and a visit to the European House.
Among other topics, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation supports cross-border cooperation between Germany and the Netherlands. The participants are active in the cross-border or international field. The trip was organized in cooperation with the city of Bocholt and Europe Direct Bocholt.
Visits to ministries and institutions
In Berlin, the program included various tours and visits to ministries and institutions. The program started with a guided tour of the Humboldt Forum, a new piece of culture in Berlin.
A detailed, political city tour was given by an experienced and competent Berlin city guide. A special highlight was the guided tour of the Embassy of the Netherlands, whose extraordinary architecture sets exclamation marks.
Visit to the Reichstag
Another highlight was the visit to the Bundestag. After a discussion with Anne König, a member of the Bundestag from the constituency of Borken, the group took part in a plenary session. In the "current hour", the MPs discussed how to deal with so-called Reich citizens. This debate was broadcast in excerpts on the evening news program Tagesschau.
Exciting information at the Federal Ministry of Defense
The participants received information on various political topics. In the European House at the Brandenburg Gate, the topic was the "European Green Deal". At the Federal Ministry of Defense, they discussed the impact of the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine.
